Please Share the Beginning of Your Career Journey with Us.

My career began with a strong commitment to becoming a technically skilled, compassionate, and versatile surgeon. After medical school, I completed a rigorous five-year general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Training in a high-volume urban hospital gave me extensive experience managing complex surgical conditions, trauma, and critically ill patients.
I also served on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, an experience that profoundly shaped my resilience, adaptability, and approach to patient care. Working in such a demanding environment reinforced the importance of remaining composed under pressure, adapting to rapidly changing circumstances, and keeping the well-being of patients at the center of every decision.
Following residency, I pursued advanced fellowship training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City. That fellowship allowed me to combine the discipline and broad operative foundation of general surgery with the precision, artistry, and individualized planning required in aesthetic surgery.
I subsequently remained with the practice as a cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon, continuing to refine my techniques while developing my own distinctive surgical approach. This journey has allowed me to bring together technical expertise, surgical precision, creativity, and compassionate patient care in my work.
Could You Highlight the Key Offerings?
My practice provides comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive surgical care, with a particular emphasis on body contouring, breast surgery, and procedures for patients following pregnancy or significant weight loss.
Key offerings include abdominoplasty, liposuction and advanced liposculpting, Brazilian butt lift, lower body lift, thigh lift, arm lift, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, and complex combination procedures such as mommy makeovers.
I also offer facial rejuvenation procedures, including face and neck lifting, upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lifting, facial resurfacing, and nonsurgical injectable treatments.
Every treatment plan is individualized according to the patient’s anatomy, lifestyle, concerns, and desired outcome. My goal is never to impose a standardized aesthetic, but to create refined, natural-looking results that preserve each patient’s individuality.
What Are Your Long-Term Goals, and Where Do You Envision Yourself in the Coming Years?
My long-term goal is to build a nationally recognized cosmetic and reconstructive surgery practice known for exceptional outcomes, uncompromising patient safety, and a highly personalized patient experience.
I envision expanding my surgical presence while continuing to develop innovative approaches to complex body contouring, particularly for massive-weight-loss patients and individuals with difficult areas of tissue redundancy.
I also hope to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of cosmetic surgery through research, publication, surgical education, and mentorship. In the coming years, I see myself not only operating and growing my practice, but also teaching other surgeons, refining new techniques and protocols, and helping shape higher standards within the specialty.
Ultimately, I want my career to be defined by both the results I achieve for individual patients and the lasting contributions I make to the field.
Who Has Been the Most Significant Source of Inspiration in Your Life?
My greatest inspiration has come from people who have demonstrated resilience, purpose, and excellence during difficult circumstances—particularly my family, especially my parents, my patients, and the mentors who believed in my potential.
My parents have been an important source of inspiration and support throughout my journey. Their influence has shaped many of the values that guide me personally and professionally.
Professionally, Dr. Erik J. Nuveen has been one of the most influential figures in my career. As my fellowship program director, mentor, and surgical colleague, he challenged me to continually elevate my judgment, technical ability, and standards of patient care.
My patients are also a constant source of inspiration. Many come to me after pregnancy, major weight loss, illness, or other life-changing experiences. Their trust and vulnerability remind me that cosmetic and reconstructive surgery extends far beyond physical appearance.
It can help restore confidence, comfort, identity, and a sense of ownership over one’s body. Being entrusted with such an important part of a person’s journey is both a responsibility and a continuing source of inspiration for me.

What Were the Most Challenging Obstacles You’ve Encountered in Your Career?

One of the greatest challenges was completing surgical residency in a demanding, high-volume environment while working through the unprecedented pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic. Caring for critically ill patients during that period required emotional endurance, rapid decision-making, and the ability to continue functioning under extraordinary uncertainty. It reinforced the importance of remaining calm, adaptable, and deeply committed to the people who depend on you.
I have also faced the challenges that come with establishing credibility as a younger female surgeon in a highly competitive field. Developing a surgical practice requires much more than technical ability; it demands perseverance, business judgment, leadership, and the willingness to advocate for yourself while maintaining an unwavering commitment to patient care.
In addition, navigating major personal losses and complex professional and immigration circumstances while continuing to operate and care for patients has tested me profoundly. Those experiences have strengthened my resilience and clarified my purpose. They taught me that obstacles do not have to diminish ambition—they can deepen it, refine it, and make success far more meaningful.
