As the Founder and CEO of the Saroni Roy Foundation (SRf), Saroni has built a purpose-driven platform that brings together creativity, advocacy, and community empowerment. Through its creative division, SRf Creatists, and the women’s empowerment initiative Super Naari, she champions projects that address some of society’s most pressing challenges, including gender equality, period equity, peacebuilding, and inclusive representation.
A cancer survivor, body positivity advocate, and passionate voice for social justice, Saroni has transformed her personal experiences into a mission to empower others. Her flagship initiative, Super Naari, focuses on advancing the global Women, Peace & Security agenda while working to eliminate period poverty and promote menstrual equity through education, awareness, and community engagement.
Beyond her philanthropic work, Saroni is an influential leader within Australia’s creative industry. She has served as Co-chair of the Entertainment Diversity Committee and Federal Councillor, National Performers Committee, at the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA), actively advocating for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entertainment industry. Through initiatives such as the Mahatma Peace Symposium, Global Peacebuilders Forum and the Lashkaaraa Diwali Couture Show, she continues to demonstrate how structured peace education and accentuating soft power with a 3Cs approach of tapping into the ‘Cultural, Creative & Circular Economy’ can become a powerful force for cultural dialogue, social cohesion, and socio-economic prosperity.

My professional journey began as a journalist and writer in India, where storytelling became my first passion. I started writing at the age of fifteen for Hindustan Times and went on to contribute to more than seventeen leading publications, including The Indian Express, Femina, TimeOut Mumbai & London, StyleSpeak, Spa Mantra, and Indian Link, to name a few. Through journalism, I had the privilege of interviewing global leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers, including Shah Rukh Khan, M. Night Shyamalan, Sabyasachi, and many others, exploring stories centered on peace, culture, fashion, wellness, and success.
As my career evolved, I expanded into public relations, education, media, and corporate communications, working with global organizations such as Google, HP, Visa, Microsoft, SAP, and ITC Hotels. I also led media interactions for influential leaders, including Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, and Lalitesh Katragadda, Founder of Google Map Maker. After moving to Australia, I began a new chapter as an educator. As a Cambridge CELTA graduate, I taught English to speakers of other languages at leading language schools in Sydney, helping students from around the world build communication skills that would empower them both personally and professionally.
Alongside my academic and corporate career, I had continued to pursue my lifelong passion for the performing arts through training in Indian classical music and multiple dance forms. However, life presented unexpected challenges that transformed my journey in profound ways. Surviving cancer while living with multiple progressive invisible disabilities changed my outlook completely. Shortly after relocating to Australia, I found myself battling excruciating physical pain, became largely bedridden, and was eventually forced to leave my professional career.
Searching for purpose and a creative outlet within my physical limitations, I enrolled in leading film schools in Sydney and began studying screen acting and directing. What started as a path toward healing soon became a new professional calling. Acting introduced me to an extraordinary creative community and gave me a renewed sense of purpose. Since then, I have appeared in Australian, American, and European film and television productions, including award-winning films such as Why Should We Hire You, Salt Along the Tongue, Faceless, and an Amazon Prime web series. I also became the face of leading brands including Commonwealth Bank Australia, M.A.C Cosmetics, Nancy Ganz, and Pinterest. A portrait of me by Australian photographer Stine Munk Jensen received the Portrait Masters Bronze Award in Los Angeles, making me the first Indian-origin model to receive this prestigious recognition.
My journey has also been shaped by deep personal adversity. Having experienced multiple sexual assaults, bullying, body shaming, and slut shaming, I transformed those painful experiences into advocacy through my body positivity movement, “From Fat Shaming to Fat Faming.” This mission led to several milestones, including being named Ms. India Australia Goodwill Ambassador, becoming the first Indian-Australian actor and model to represent the body-confidence brand Nancy Ganz, being featured in the 2026 FHM Australia Calendar, and achieving 6th place globally in the 2025 MAXIM USA Covergirl Competition among more than 10,000 contestants.
Throughout every chapter of my life, I chose not to let adversity define me. Instead, it strengthened my belief that leadership is rooted in resilience, empathy, service, and creating opportunities for others. Today, I serve as an award-winning actor, filmmaker, singer, keynote speaker, Sacred Purpose–Limitless Mindset Coach, Founding Member of Forbes Women Australia, philanthropist, and social entrepreneur.
As the Founder and CEO of the Saroni Roy Foundation (SRf) & SRf Creatists I lead initiatives that advance peace education, diversity, sustainability, women’s empowerment, and social justice through the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through flagship initiatives including the MAHATMA Peace Symposium, Super Naari, SRf Creatists for Peace, and the Lashkaaraa Diwali Couture Show, we bring together governments, businesses, artists, educators, and communities to build a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable future.
Looking back, I have learned that success is never measured solely by personal accomplishments. It is measured by the lives we uplift, the barriers we break, and the positive legacy we leave for future generations.

Through a diverse portfolio of initiatives, we work to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, peacebuilding, women’s empowerment, sustainability, and community engagement at both local and global levels.
As an award-winning actor, influencer, producer, and filmmaker, I collaborate with leading Australian and international creatives, businesses, and brands. I believe the creative industries have the power to challenge stereotypes, amplify diverse voices, and inspire meaningful social change through authentic storytelling. Alongside my work in entertainment, I partner with purpose-driven brands and organizations as a content creator and influencer, using digital media to promote conversations around diversity, inclusion, sustainability, health, and social impact.
One of our flagship initiatives is Super Naari, a Women, Peace & Security initiative committed to addressing period poverty and gender health gap. Through education, advocacy, policy engagement, and efforts to democratize and destigmatize menstrual, reproductive, and sexual health, the initiative promotes dignity, health equity, and greater socio-economic participation for girls and women worldwide.
Our MAHATMA Peace Symposium (MPS) is a global peacebuilding platform inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy and aligned with the UN-SDGs. The symposium promotes intercultural dialogue, sustainability, positive peace, and Australia–India collaboration, while making history by hosting ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ at the Parliament of New South Wales for the first time in Australia.
Through SRf Creatists for Peace, we harness the power of film, fashion, music, theatre, visual arts, and storytelling to encourage cultural exchange, strengthen social cohesion, and foster peacebuilding. Complementing this is Off-Screen with Saroni Roy, a YouTube interview series featuring conversations with global leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, artists, and changemakers on leadership, innovation, creativity, and social impact.
I also lead Sacred Purpose – Limitless Mindset, a transformational coaching and leadership program that empowers individuals to discover their purpose, build resilience, develop an abundance mindset, and unlock their highest personal and professional potential. In addition, I regularly deliver keynote addresses, executive coaching, leadership workshops, and strategic consulting for governments, educational institutions, corporations, and community organizations on topics including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Positive Peace, Cultural Intelligence, Women’s Leadership, Gender Equality, Invisible Disability, Cancer Survivorship, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Sustainability, and Purpose-driven Leadership.

What Are Your Long-Term Goals, and Where Do You Envision Yourself in the Coming Years?
My long-term vision is to expand the global impact of our flagship initiatives by working at the intersection of peacebuilding, creativity, diversity, gender equity, and sustainability. In particular, I aim to scale Super Naari internationally by collaborating with governments, educational institutions, healthcare providers, businesses, and international organizations to help bridge the gender health gap and eliminate period poverty.
As an actor, peace activist, and responsible global citizen, I firmly believe that women play a transformative role in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Super Naari is our call to recognize women as changemakers and peacebuilders by raising awareness about gender health inequality, amplifying voices that have too often been silenced, and reimagining more inclusive narratives of justice, dignity, and equality. By combining creativity with advocacy, we aspire to inspire collective action toward a future where gender equality and lasting peace become realities rather than aspirations.
As a creator and artist, I also want to continue using film, media, fashion, and storytelling as powerful vehicles for social transformation. My goal is to produce meaningful projects that amplify underrepresented voices, foster cultural understanding, and encourage dialogue that leads to positive change.
Ultimately, I hope my legacy will not be defined by titles or awards, but by the communities empowered, the barriers broken, and the opportunities created for future generations. If my work inspires even one person to use their voice, embrace their purpose, and become a force for positive change, I will consider my journey a success.
Who Has Been the Most Significant Source of Inspiration in Your Life?
My greatest inspiration comes from a combination of my family, my lived experiences, and visionary leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, J.N. Tata, J.R.D. Tata, and Ratan Tata, whose legacy helped shape the city where I was born, Jamshedpur. From an early age, I learned that business and success are truly meaningful only when they create lasting value for society. Their unwavering commitment to empowering communities, fostering inclusion, driving innovation, practicing philanthropy, and upholding ethical leadership continues to inspire both my personal philosophy and the mission of the Saroni Roy Foundation. I firmly believe that lasting peace begins when individuals and communities choose empathy over division and action over indifference.
Growing up in a family of artists and musicians also played a defining role in shaping who I am. They instilled in me a deep appreciation for creativity, discipline, and cultural expression—values that continue to influence both my artistic journey and my philanthropic work.
My personal journey as a cancer survivor and someone living with invisible disabilities has been one of my greatest teachers. It has shown me the importance of self-love, resilience, gratitude, compassion, and leading with authenticity, while reinforcing the belief that our greatest challenges can become our greatest sources of purpose.
Above all, I am inspired by ordinary people who demonstrate extraordinary courage every day—women overcoming adversity, young people challenging outdated systems, volunteers serving their communities selflessly, and individuals who continue to build bridges despite their differences. They remind me that true leadership is never about power or position; it is about purpose, compassion, and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

I have been incredibly humbled to receive recognition across the fields of arts, community service, diversity, peacebuilding, and social impact. While awards are never the ultimate goal, they serve as meaningful reminders that purpose-driven work can create lasting change.
Some of the notable recognitions I have received include the NRI Achievers Award 2026, 2026 Global Women of Influence Award, being the first Indian-Australian model featured in the 2026 FHM Australia Calendar, and securing 6th place globally in the 2025 MAXIM USA Covergirl Competition, becoming the first Indian-Australian actor and model to achieve this distinction. I was also honored with the 2025 Strathfield Rotary Vocational Excellence Award for Professional, Essential Services & Volunteering and was a finalist for the 2025 Gargi Awards presented by the Hindu Council of Australia for Community Services Excellence.
In recognition of my work in diversity and community leadership, I was included in the Most Influential Asian Australians List for both 2023 and 2024, received the 2024 Diversity Enabler Award from the Mohanji Foundation’s Festival of Womanhood, and was named Strathfield Citizen of the Year at the 2022 Australia Day Awards. Other honors include the 2021 TAFE NSW Contribution to the Community Award, nomination to the Young Global Leaders Forum of the World Economic Forum (2023), 2021 India Australia Business & Community Awards (IABCA) Finalist in Young Community Achiever of the Year & Community Services Excellence Award, the 2020 WSABE Awards Commonwealth Bank Excellence in Arts & Culture Finalist recognition, the “Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All” Award at the Women Economic Forum Digital Summit 2020, the Peace Ambassador Award from IWPG, and the Global Mentor & SHERO Award from Worldwide SHEroes.
I am also proud to serve as Board Director, Australian Indian Orchestra (AIO), Associate, Australia India Business Council (AIBC), Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) Ambassador and a former India Australia Business & Community Alliance (IABCA) Youth Ambassador, reflecting my ongoing commitment to peacebuilding, leadership, and community development.
