Please share the beginning of your career journey with us?
“My career journey wasn’t shaped by a strategic career plan or the ambition to become a public voice in senior care. Instead, it began with a deeply personal experience that forever changed my perspective on caregiving and healthcare. When my father came to live with my family for what we believed would be just a few weeks, those weeks evolved into nearly three years of full-time caregiving as we supported him through seven major surgeries, recurring health crises, and the countless challenges that millions of families quietly face every day.
That chapter of my life transformed my purpose. Although I had been pursuing a path toward medical school, caregiving taught me that some of the most important healthcare decisions are made not in hospitals, but around kitchen tables by families trying to navigate unfamiliar medical, financial, legal, and emotional challenges with little guidance. I realized that families needed more than clinical care—they needed trusted information, compassionate support, and practical resources to help them through one of life’s most difficult journeys.
That realization inspired my wife and me to establish Enriched Life Home Care Services, a family-owned organization dedicated to providing person-centered care built on dignity, trust, and compassion. As we worked closely with older adults, individuals living with dementia, and family caregivers, it became increasingly clear that education was just as essential as care itself.
This insight led me to create All Home Care Matters, a multimedia platform designed to educate, empower, and support families navigating aging, dementia, caregiving, and long-term care. What began as a passion project has grown into an internationally recognized educational platform in senior care, with more than 500 episodes, a YouTube community of over 112,000 subscribers, more than 26 million video views, and recognition through the YouTube Silver Creator Award. Today, the platform reaches a global audience across podcasts, video, social media, and digital publishing, and has been recognized by AARP as a recommended caregiving podcast. It also ranks among the top 0.05% of podcasts worldwide.
My mission expanded even further when I became President and Owner of AlzAuthors, a respected community connecting readers with authors who share valuable insights on Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, caregiving, and grief. Through The Senior Care Influencer, I continue to advocate for families through speaking engagements, writing, media appearances, and public education. My first book, The All Home Care Matters Official Family Caregiver’s Guide, was created to provide practical support for caregivers, while my forthcoming book, Caregiving in America, aims to become a comprehensive resource for families across the United States.
Looking back, the common thread throughout my journey has always been transforming personal experience into meaningful public service. I entered this field first as a son and family caregiver before becoming a home care professional, author, media executive, and advocate. That experience continues to shape everything I do, reinforcing my belief that true leadership in senior care is built on compassion, credibility, consistency, and a genuine commitment to serving the families who live these experiences every single day.” — Lance A. KEY OFFERINGS
“At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to educating, empowering, and supporting families, caregivers, and professionals navigating the complexities of aging, dementia, and long-term care. Rather than focusing on a single service, I’ve built an interconnected ecosystem that combines media, education, caregiving, publishing, and advocacy to create meaningful, lasting impact.
All Home Care Matters serves as the flagship of this ecosystem. Through expert interviews, educational discussions, documentary-style storytelling, and conversations with healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, nonprofit leaders, innovators, and family caregivers, we make complex senior care topics accessible and actionable. Our content reaches a global audience through YouTube, podcasts, social media, newsletters, websites, and digital educational resources. Every episode is thoughtfully researched and professionally produced to deliver long-term educational value rather than simply following the traditional podcast format.
As President and Owner of AlzAuthors, I continue that mission by connecting families with trusted books and resources focused on Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, caregiving, brain health, grief, and related topics. Beyond maintaining a carefully curated library, we’re expanding our platform through author interviews, book reviews, consultations, and collaborative initiatives that amplify the voices of experts and provide families with reliable, credible, professionally informed, and experience-based resources.
Through The Senior Care Influencer, I bring together my work as an author, speaker, advocate, and media executive. This platform allows me to engage in broader conversations about the future of senior care, highlighting how aging intersects with healthcare, public policy, workforce development, technology, housing, legal planning, and social responsibility. It has become a space where meaningful dialogue drives greater awareness and inspires positive change.
At the foundation of all these initiatives is Enriched Life Home Care Services, where our team continues to provide compassionate person-centered home care. Remaining actively involved in direct care ensures that everything we create—from our educational content and books to our partnerships and advocacy efforts—is grounded in the real experiences of families and caregivers. It keeps our work practical, authentic, and focused on addressing the everyday challenges people face.
Ultimately, my goal isn’t simply to build platforms or expand visibility. It’s to create trusted resources that educate, inspire, and empower families while supporting professionals and organizations dedicated to improving the future of senior care. Every initiative is driven by the same purpose: delivering credible information, fostering meaningful connections, and creating lasting value for the communities we serve.” — Lance A. Slatton
What are your long-term goals, and where do you envision yourself in the coming years?
“My long-term goal is to build the most trusted, comprehensive, and influential nonpartisan media and education ecosystem dedicated to senior care and family caregiving. I want everything we create to make a meaningful difference—not only by helping shape the national conversation around aging and caregiving, but also by providing practical, reliable guidance to the family searching for answers during some of life’s most difficult moments.
I envision All Home Care Matters continuing to evolve far beyond the traditional definition of a podcast. My goal is to establish it as a lasting media institution that features broadcast-quality interviews, original educational series, documentary projects, public policy discussions, and strategic collaborations with leading healthcare organizations, nonprofits, universities, researchers, and innovators. I want it to become the place where the most important conversations about aging, dementia, and caregiving are not only held but preserved as valuable educational resources for generations to come.
I also see AlzAuthors becoming the world’s leading destination for books and authors focused on Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, caregiving, and brain health. I truly believe that the right book, discovered at the right moment, can change how a family understands a diagnosis, navigates a caregiving journey, or finds hope during an incredibly challenging time. Expanding our library, strengthening support for authors, and integrating written resources with video and audio education will allow us to reach and serve even more families around the world.
Another important milestone is the publication of my upcoming book, Caregiving in America. My vision is for it to become much more than a personal story. I want it to serve as a comprehensive resource that combines real caregiver experiences, practical guidance, self-assessments, worksheets, and state and national resources into one trusted reference. My hope is that it becomes a valuable guide not only for families and caregivers, but also for healthcare professionals, educators, policymakers, and organizations committed to improving the future of caregiving.
Beyond expanding these platforms, I am passionate about moving caregiving from the margins of public discussion to the center of healthcare, workforce, and economic policy. Family caregivers are the backbone of our nation’s care infrastructure, yet their contributions are too often invisible and underappreciated. Through media, writing, strategic partnerships, and collaboration with public leaders, I intend to advocate for greater recognition of caregivers and support meaningful, system-level changes that improve their lives and strengthen the future of care.
Ultimately, I measure success not simply by the size of an audience, but by the impact we make. Growth allows us to reach more people, but trust is the true measure of our work. My legacy is not to build the largest platform—it is to ensure that every family entering the caregiving journey feels less alone, better informed, and more empowered because our work exists. If we can continue providing hope, education, and practical guidance to those who need it most, I will consider that the greatest achievement of my career.” — Lance A. Slatton
Who has been the most significant source of inspiration in your life?
“My father has been the greatest source of inspiration in my life. Caring for him completely changed my understanding of responsibility, dignity, compassion, and unconditional love. Through nearly three years of caregiving, I learned that caregiving isn’t defined by one extraordinary moment—it’s shaped by thousands of everyday decisions. It’s about showing up consistently, paying attention to the smallest details, protecting someone’s dignity, learning as you go, and continuing to care even when you’re physically and emotionally exhausted.
His journey became the foundation of everything I do today. Without that experience, I don’t believe I would have fully understood how overwhelming and isolating the caregiving journey can be for families. It opened my eyes to the urgent need for trusted education, practical guidance, and compassionate support. In many ways, my father gave my work its purpose, even though neither of us could have imagined where that journey would eventually lead.
My wife and family have also been an incredible source of strength and inspiration. Building a family business, serving caregivers, creating educational media, writing books, and growing multiple organizations requires an unwavering commitment and shared belief in the mission. Their encouragement and support have allowed me to transform deeply personal experiences into work that helps families around the world.
Today, I continue to find inspiration in family caregivers themselves. Every day, I meet people who are balancing careers, raising children, managing finances, coordinating medical appointments, and caring for loved ones—all while carrying an emotional burden that often goes unseen. Their resilience, compassion, and determination remind me why this mission is so important. Every message from a family sharing that one of our episodes, books, or resources helped them through a difficult time reinforces my commitment to this work. Their courage inspires me every day to continue educating, advocating, and ensuring that no caregiver feels unseen, unsupported, or alone.” — Lance A. Slatton

What were the most challenging obstacles you’ve encountered in your career?
“One of the greatest challenges I’ve faced has been building credibility in a field where trust is everything. Senior care and caregiving are deeply personal, and families are often overwhelmed by misinformation, oversimplified advice, and commercial messaging. When I launched All Home Care Matters, there was no guarantee that people would tune in, that respected experts would agree to participate, or that the platform would grow. Every episode, every conversation, and every resource had to earn its place by providing genuine value. Trust wasn’t built overnight—it was earned one family, one guest, and one story at a time.
Another significant challenge has been balancing purpose with sustainability. Producing high-quality educational content requires substantial investment in research, production, editing, technology, distribution, and a dedicated team. At the same time, I have always believed that families deserve information they can trust, free from unnecessary influence or commercial bias. Protecting our editorial integrity has meant making difficult decisions, establishing clear standards, and sometimes walking away from opportunities that didn’t align with our mission or serve the best interests of caregivers.
Managing growth has also brought its own challenges. Leading All Home Care Matters, AlzAuthors, The Senior Care Influencer, and Enriched Life Home Care Services while writing books, producing hundreds of educational episodes, speaking publicly, and responding to the ever-changing senior care landscape requires discipline, focus, and an exceptional team. Growth creates incredible opportunities, but it also comes with a greater responsibility to remain accurate, consistent, and worthy of the trust that families place in us every day.
On a personal level, this mission was born during one of the most emotionally demanding chapters of my life. Caring for my father through years of serious health challenges required tremendous physical, emotional, and mental strength. Transforming those deeply personal experiences into a public mission meant revisiting difficult memories and using them to help others. While there were moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and self-doubt, those experiences also became the foundation of my resilience and strengthened my commitment to serving families facing similar journeys.
Perhaps the greatest challenge is recognizing the sheer complexity of caregiving itself. It touches nearly every aspect of life—from dementia care, workforce shortages, and healthcare access to financial planning, legal considerations, technology, housing, family dynamics, and public policy. No single organization or platform can solve every issue. What I can do is bring together trusted experts, ask meaningful questions, provide reliable education, and ensure that caregivers and families remain at the heart of every conversation. That commitment continues to guide my work and inspires me to raise the standard for senior care education and advocacy every single day.” — Lance A. Slatton
