Please share the beginning of your career journey with us?

Shikha Bajaj of Own Your Color®: Transforming Leadership Through Identity, Mentorship, and Impact

“My career began in the structured corridors of corporate transformation—working across strategy, technology, and large-scale digital modernization initiatives. Early on, I built my professional foundation within complex organizations where success was measured through precision, profitability, and the pace of execution.

However, as I progressed in my career, I began to notice something that many transformation agendas were overlooking. While organizations were investing billions in the transformation of systems and processes, real transformation agents (people) were being overlooked.

Recognizing this gap became a defining moment in my professional journey. What initially started as informal mentoring conversations with colleagues gradually evolved into a deeper philosophy around leadership and self-awareness. Over time, I observed a consistent pattern – the professionals who created the most meaningful impact were not necessarily the loudest voices in the room, but the clearest. They were clear about their values, confident in their strengths, and authentic in the way they expressed their voice.

My corporate experience provided me with global experience, while my personal experiences strengthened my emotional intelligence and understanding of human potential. The intersection of these two perspectives ultimately led to the creation of Own Your Color®- a leadership framework rooted in authenticity, clarity, and purpose.

Through Own Your Color®, we address imposter syndrome at scale, leadership dilution, and burnout from misalignment—while unlocking high-potential talent and reimagining fragmented mentorship. ”- Shikha Bajaj

Could you highlight the key offerings of Own Your Color®?

“At Own Your Color®, our mission is to help organizations and individuals unlock differentiated performance by aligning authenticity with leadership strategy. The platform is designed to empower professionals to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose while enabling organizations to build cultures where talent and ambition move in the same direction.

Our work spans several key areas.

Enterprise Leadership & Culture Transformation is one of our primary focus areas. We partner with organizations to elevate leadership presence, strengthen mentorship ecosystems, and improve retention among high-potential talent. We also work closely with leadership teams to align organizational culture with long-term strategic goals, design scalable mentorship programs, and optimize leadership development frameworks. In my experience, organizations rarely struggle with strategy—they struggle with the alignment between talent identity and organizational ambition. That is the gap we help solve.

Another important offering is Executive and One-to-One Mentoring. These engagements focus on helping senior leaders gain strategic clarity, strengthen their executive presence, and navigate critical career transitions such as moving from VP to CXO roles or from founder to scaling leader. Our approach goes beyond traditional coaching—it is designed to help leaders build influence, sharpen decision-making, and communicate with authentic authority.

We also design Group Mentorship and Corporate Cohort Programs. These include leadership circles, women-in-leadership accelerators, cross-functional mentorship pods, and high-impact talent development initiatives. When mentorship is structured thoughtfully, it becomes a sustainable organizational infrastructure rather than a one-time initiative.

In addition, Own Your Color® extends into Book Clubs, Workshops, and Academic Engagements. Through my award-winning book, we collaborate with corporations, universities, and professional communities to facilitate leadership workshops, keynote sessions, and professional development seminars. These engagements focus on practical leadership tools and measurable growth, supported by research-driven resources including our clarity assessment available at www.ownyourcolor.com.

One of our most distinctive offerings is the Personalized Power Kits™. These are customized leadership blueprints designed to help professionals and teams understand how to leverage their strengths effectively. Each Power Kit™ includes a strength-positioning analysis, a strategic visibility roadmap, communication archetype mapping, an influence strategy, and a long-term career architecture plan. For organizations, these insights can evolve into alignment dashboards that ensure talent is positioned where it can perform at its highest potential.

Ultimately, Own Your Color® is about transforming self-awareness into strategic leadership—helping individuals and organizations lead with authenticity while achieving meaningful, measurable impact”- Shikha Bajaj

What problem are you solving globally?

Shikha Bajaj of Own Your Color®: Transforming Leadership Through Identity, Mentorship, and Impact

“At a global level, I believe we are addressing what I call the misalignment crisis in modern organizations. Across industries, leaders are increasingly overwhelmed. Teams are highly capable and skilled, yet many organizations still struggle with cohesion, clarity, and authentic leadership alignment.

One of the most striking patterns I’ve observed is that high-potential talent is not leaving organizations because of compensation. More often, they leave because they feel unseen, underutilized, or disconnected from their true strengths. When individuals cannot fully express their identity and capabilities in the workplace, disengagement naturally follows.

The global workforce today doesn’t necessarily need more productivity frameworks or performance hacks. What it truly needs is clarity of identity—an understanding of who individuals are, what they uniquely contribute, and how those contributions align with organizational goals.

Through Own Your Color®, we focus on addressing several key challenges. These include executive imposter syndrome at scale, leadership dilution as organizations grow, and burnout that often stems from performing roles that do not align with one’s authentic strengths. We also address the issue of under-leveraged high-potential talent and fragmented mentorship structures that fail to provide consistent support for emerging leaders.

In my view, authenticity is not a soft skill—it is a competitive advantage. When organizations align leadership identity with business strategy, they create environments where people thrive. The result is stronger retention, faster innovation, and cultures that are resilient in the face of change”- Shikha Bajaj

What are your long-term goals, and where do you envision yourself in the coming years?

“My long-term vision is to position Own Your Color® as a globally recognized leadership standard—one that is deeply integrated into corporations, universities, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. I believe that leadership development should begin early and evolve continuously, helping individuals align their authentic strengths with the impact they want to create.

In the coming years, my focus is on expanding the reach and influence of the Own Your Color® platform. This includes scaling enterprise partnerships across multiple industries, launching certification programs to train mentorship architects, and building stronger collaborations with high schools and universities so that leadership development begins earlier in a professional’s journey. Another important goal is to contribute to the global conversation around leadership by publishing research on authenticity-driven performance. I also envision establishing Own Your Color® Centers for Leadership Excellence, spaces dedicated to mentoring, research, and leadership transformation.

Our approach goes beyond traditional coaching—it is designed to help leaders build influence, sharpen decision-making, and communicate with authentic authority.

We also design Group Mentorship and Corporate Cohort Programs. These include leadership circles, women-in-leadership accelerators, cross- functional mentorship pods, and high-impact talent development initiatives. For organizations, these insights translate into alignment dashboards that place talent where it performs best—building high-performing teams by design. We also offer bundled solutions, combining workshops, Power Kits™, and scalable products for greater impact.

Who has been the most significant source of inspiration in your life?

“The most significant source of inspiration in my life has been my mother. She has been the quiet architect behind much of my resilience, conviction, and perspective on leadership. Through her example, I learned that true strength does not require noise—it requires clarity and inner confidence.

Long before I studied leadership frameworks or organizational transformation, my mother modeled integrity, discipline, and grace under pressure. She carried herself with dignity and purpose, never needing recognition for the strength she demonstrated every day.

From her, I learned one of the most powerful lessons that continues to guide my work today: identity is not something you negotiate—it is something you honor. That belief is deeply embedded in the philosophy behind Own Your Color®. The courage to stand fully in who you are, even when it may feel unconventional, was first demonstrated to me at home through her example”- Shikha Bajaj

For Bajaj, impact remains the most important metric of all.

What were the most challenging obstacles you’ve encountered in your career?

“One of the most significant challenges I faced in my career was reframing authenticity as something strategic rather than something “soft” or optional. For many years, authenticity was not always seen as a critical leadership capability. In boardrooms focused on metrics like growth, profitability, and shareholder value, conversations around identity, clarity, and authentic leadership often seemed secondary. Demonstrating that identity clarity can directly influence measurable performance required patience, evidence, and unwavering conviction.

Another challenge has been scaling the Own Your Color® philosophy without diluting its depth. As the concept gained traction and popularity, there was always a risk that its meaning could become oversimplified. Maintaining the integrity of the framework while expanding its reach has required careful discipline and intentional leadership.

On a personal level, visibility was also a challenge. Many high-performing professionals—especially women and first-generation leaders—are often conditioned to focus on delivering results rather than articulating their impact. Learning to confidently communicate my work and influence without hesitation became an important transformation for me. That personal journey ultimately became part of the framework I now teach, helping others step fully into their voice, leadership presence, and authentic influence”- Shikha Bajaj

Why do companies, colleges, and individuals need Own Your Color® now?

“I believe the leadership landscape has fundamentally shifted. Today, AI is optimizing systems, automation is replacing repetitive work, and information is more accessible than ever before. In this environment, what remains truly scarce is differentiated human leadership.

Organizations need leaders who can communicate with clarity in complex situations, align teams without micromanaging, retain top talent in highly competitive markets, and scale culture without losing their organizational identity.

Colleges also need frameworks that prepare students not just for employment, but for influence and leadership in a rapidly evolving world. At the individual level, professionals need clarity—clarity that allows them to stop performing versions of success that do not align with who they truly are, and instead build careers that are authentic, sustainable, and impactful.

“For me, Own Your Color® is not about motivation. It is about activation—helping people fully step into their strengths, voice, and leadership potential”- Shikha Bajaj.
