From Humble Beginnings to Healthcare Leadership and Milestones

I grew up in a small automotive factory town in rural Indiana, where I quickly discovered a love for learning. I wasn’t always focused on grades—instead, I was drawn to understanding the concepts that truly captured my curiosity. After high school, I proudly served in the U.S. Army and had the unique opportunity to pursue my education in Europe.
Returning to the States, I had the good fortune of working with the 49th wealthiest person in the country at that time. That experience broadened my horizons in ways I couldn’t have imagined and introduced me to relationships that continue to shape my journey today. I’ve always considered myself more of a team player than a solo act. The many accomplishments I’ve been a part of were made possible by the brilliant, generous people I’ve worked alongside.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of being named Salesperson of the Month, Year, and even Company-Wide across several industries. I was nominated for a Stevie Award and, outside of my professional work, co-founded a film production company. Our team’s efforts have led to over 90 awards and recognition on the Oscar qualification list.
Earlier in life, I won several spelling bees and short story contests and became the first African American male solo performance winner in the state of Indiana. I’ve also had the privilege of participating in major events like SXSW and an engagement at the United Nations Headquarters. Being inducted into the Society of the Good Time in Canada and selected for Who’s Who in America are honors I hold close.
Most recently, I was recognized among the Top Healthcare Leaders of 2025—an acknowledgment that reflects the incredible journey I’ve been fortunate to walk with so many inspiring individuals.

What are your long-term goals, and where do you envision yourself in the coming years?

I’ve spent nearly three decades in the sales and communication space, and at the heart of it all has always been my fascination with human connection. I genuinely love learning about people—their stories, their journeys, their struggles and triumphs. I’ve come to realize that the way you listen to someone can be far more impactful than anything you say. In the end, we’re all just looking for someone to truly see us, to acknowledge that we were here.
My journey into healthcare wasn’t planned—it was personal. A routine checkup uncovered a potentially life-threatening issue I had no idea existed. That moment changed everything. It wasn’t about a new career path; it was about survival. I became determined to find better ways to monitor and protect my health. That drive turned into something deeper when a former colleague introduced me to a company dedicated to using scanning technology that had already saved lives. Suddenly, what had started as a personal quest became a calling.
My long-term goal is simple but bold: to positively impact the health and lives of at least one million people across the globe. And through iuvoCare, I now have the platform and support to not only reach that number—but to exceed it.
Before this, I was thriving in a completely different industry. But that calling to help others kept tugging at me. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. Thankfully, my past experiences and reputation opened the door, and I finally took the leap. I didn’t want to live with the “what if” anymore.
Looking back, I now understand that every step I took, every role I played, and every lesson I learned was preparing me for this mission. And I’m just getting started.
What were the most challenging obstacles you’ve encountered in your career?
One of the toughest challenges I’ve faced in my career has been being away from my family. Travel is often a big part of my work, but I’ve made it a non-negotiable to have standing times to connect with my loved ones—no matter what’s going on. That consistent communication brings a sense of normalcy to their lives and mine. It’s those small anchors that help keep me grounded.
Another major area of personal growth has been working on my impulse control. I’ve been consciously exploring the reasons behind my immediate reactions—what situations trigger them, and why I feel the urge to respond in a certain way. That kind of self-reflection has been incredibly eye-opening. What’s helped me the most is carving out time each day for quiet. The world moves faster by the minute, and it’s easy to get swept up in that pace. Without realizing it, we even start to pass that urgency on to our kids—teaching them about “being overwhelmed” before they’ve truly experienced it themselves. That awareness has made me more intentional in how I move through my day.
Whenever I’m confronted with a challenge, my first instinct is to ask questions. I start by understanding the details of the situation, then I turn inward and ask myself, “Is this reaction based on fear or ego?” Breaking it down through that lens brings clarity. It helps me take the emotion out of it and approach the next steps with a clear, focused mind. I’ve learned that true clarity often comes from concision and calm.
Who has been the most significant source of inspiration in your life?
For me, inspiration stems from a deep desire to give people the choices and opportunities we all deserve—real, unfiltered, unbiased options. The same level of care and transparency I want for my own family and myself is what drives my work every day. Sadly, we live in a system that too often prioritizes profit over people. But I truly believe—and have seen—that it’s possible for businesses and practitioners to thrive financially while genuinely helping patients maintain their health and, in many cases, prevent serious outcomes.
My own experience taught me that lesson firsthand. I often think back and wish someone had said, “Hey, take a closer look at these things. They could make all the difference.” That moment changed everything for me. Since then, I’ve been committed to making sure others get the kind of guidance I didn’t.
Legacy is a word that comes up a lot in my life. To me, it’s not just about how people remember you when you’re gone—it’s about the impression you leave when you walk out of the room. Did you make them feel heard, valued, or better in some way? That’s what matters. Our family motto is simple but powerful: “Always leave it or them as good—or better—than you found it or them.” That principle guides everything I do.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to speak and share stages with some incredible thought leaders—Mark Victor Hansen, Les Brown, Stephen Covey. Those experiences were humbling and affirming. I later moved into executive roles in sales and communication, serving at some of the largest international companies. Whether it was telecommunications, hospitality, or finance, I always focused on one thing: the impact we were making. Were we actually helping people? Were we creating value?
Now, in healthcare, that question has never been more vital. The consequences are real—sometimes even life or death. That weight makes the work we do not only more meaningful but also more urgent. And it’s that responsibility that continues to inspire me every single day.
